The Kapiti Coast District Council has very kindly allowed the Kapiti MTB Club to use this area (approx 25 acres) to develop a mountainbike park for use by local mtb riders. We have established a network of x-country trails, including dirt jumps and many northshore type structures, so the park will be fun and challenging for all levels of rider.

There is now about 60 minutes of trail riding to be had in the park. This consists of one main loop (easy) with many trails of varying degrees of difficulty branching off, all sign posted with different colours to show the level of difficulty. There are also a handful of jump specific trails which are marked from "X"-(easy) to "XXXX"-(extremely difficult) Check out the sign which is 200 metres in at the start of the jump trails.

Entry is free and you can ride anytime. WEAR A HELMET OR YOU WILL GET HASSLED BY MORE RESPONSIBLE RIDERS.

We will be having a work party on the 1st Sunday of every month at 10am, with a riding session afterwards, as well as a BBQ . All are welcome to come along and help out. Also a simple working bee every 3rd saturday at 1pm.

The KMTB club will be having many informal dig sessions in between these dates, so call Rod Bardsley, legend and Park Project Manager, if you would like to help out. There is little more satisfying than riding a trail you helped build.

At this time there is no funding available to develop the Park so we are reliant on the generosity of local business and community to donate the necessary materials to make it all happen.

The Park entrance is on Otaihanga road, 200 metres west of the landfill entrance (300 metres west of Southwards Car Museum).

Anyone with a mountainbike is welcome to use this area. Please be sensible and respect other users and neighbours of the park.

PLEASE WEAR A HELMET WHILE RIDING AND FAMILIARISE YOURSELF WITH THE TRAILS CONSTANTLY AS THEY ARE FOREVER CHANGING AS WE PROGRESS FURTHER. RIDE WITHIN YOUR ABILITIES.

Keep an eye on this site as we update it further. Just click on the news page for an update of all the action.
